Home How It Works
We are working for transformation – in churches, in individuals, in our world.

We figure if we do our part to help what’s intended to be the pre-eminent change agent in the world – the church – then we can help be a part of changing our world for the better.

We love to help churches be better and do better, because healthy, thriving churches can singularly provide something the world dearly needs: A healing place. A place of reconciliation. A place pulsing with an irresistible love for all people in all places. A place alive with an unending desire to help people learn to love God and love others deeply and extravagantly.

Slingshot Group is engaged by churches and other faith-based organizations and movements to deal with issues, problems or opportunities in the areas of Worship, Arts, Communications and Culture, including music, media, programming and leadership, and encompassing staffing, vision, direction and strategy.

Worship Leader & Staffing Search Services: We can tap into a deep, wide network of relationships in the critical Worship Arts domain, and help you find the right people. It’s a straightforward process but an important one for any church especially in today’s Worship environment:

  • We agree on the key skills and attributes, and job description to fulfill your needs.

  • We quickly become students of you and your church.

  • We find the right people who fit the agreed-upon job profile and description.

  • We submit candidates for your review.

  • We narrow the list and invite final candidates for onsite interviews and interaction.

  • An offer is extended.

Organizational Coaching & Collaborating: Here, we work closely with senior leadership, usually a team comprised of a lead pastor and key influencers and decision-makers within lay leadership, to broadly assess current issues, diagnose problems, discuss possible solutions and design specific strategies, pathways and priorities.

Individual Coaching & Collaborating: Often a church will want us to spend time developing a key member of their Worship, Arts, Programming or Communications staff, usually to address a specific ministry challenge the individual is facing, but also to build skill sets or mentor him or her over time.

Project Collaboration: Sometimes a church calls us in when it has already identified a very specific project they need help with – such as finding a new worship leader; designing a worship leader profile; reorganizing a ministry; starting a new ministry; or architecting a plan for a current ministry they want to see get to the next level of accomplishment.

Clinics & Labs: We meet with teams of staff and/or volunteers for group sessions to address a wide variety of things, whether the need is a shot in the arm in the form of an inspirational message from someone who’s been there, or an ultra-practical primer in any of our focus areas, Worship, Programming, Music, Media, Arts and Communications.

Facilitation: Churches often schedule key off-sites or important staff meetings when they encounter problems or embrace big opportunities, and these sessions can be greatly enhanced with a skilled facilitator from outside the organization who takes a creative approach to building a sense of team and drawing out fresh, bold thinking from participants.

Speaking: Slingshot Group is committed to sharing practical principles and inspiring perspectives on Worship, Arts, Communications, Leadership, Church, Culture & Story with progressive-minded, Kingdom-oriented churches and people, with audiences of all sizes.

We work with our partners in three ways, depending on the scope and nature of the work and what it is we’re trying to help you accomplish: on a per-hour basis; on a per-day basis; or on a retainer basis, starting at lengths of at least three months and up to one year.

Here’s how it starts: If, after looking through this website, you think you’re tackling a problem or opportunity you want us to partner with you on, then simply use email or phone. You share what it is you’re taking a run at, or are anticipating. We suggest what we could do. We proceed from there. It could lead to further in-depth conversation, a visit to your church, a comprehensive review of what you’re currently doing in the area of inquiry, or perhaps an assessment and design plan for next-steps – in every case, a customized approach you can believe in and commit to.
